April is National Poetry Month and we have an impressive line-up of authors and poets to celebrate! We begin with Kwame Alexander on Monday, April 2nd for the launch of Rebound, followed by a trio of talented young poets on Saturday, April 7th at 3pm. On Friday, April 13th, we'll host our very first Poetry Slam with King Philip Regional High School. All local high school students are welcome to participate in this competition.

A joyous Passover and Easter to all those that observe. For our Orthodox friends, may you all have a blessed Holy Week. Since Easter is on April 1st, we will not be pranking Jeff Kinney on April Fool's Day. We hope he enjoys the reprieve this year!

Bestselling author Michael Finkel will visit An Unlikely Story to discuss and sign The Stranger in the Woods, now available in paperback! Many people dream of escaping modern life, but most will never act on it. The Stranger in the Woods, a national bestseller, is the perfect read for fans of Jon Krakauer and David Grann's  The Lost City of Z. It is the unforgettable true story of Christopher Knight, who found refuge from the pressures of modern society by living alone in the Maine woods for twenty-seven years.   Register here for this free event.

Show your support and swing by the Second Story from 12pm to 2pm where we will have seven talented local authors discussing their new books in Children's, YA and Adult literature.  If you yourself are a local author, this is a great opportunity to ask questions and socialize with other authors in the area.

Sunday, April 8th at 2pm
We are delighted to have illustrator Scott Magoon return to An Unlikely Story with husband and wife duo, Jessica Kensky and Patrick Downes to introduce their new book Rescue and Jessica: A Life-Changing Friendship. Meet Jessica, Patrick, Scott and their furry friend, Rescue, who was recently named ASPCA Dog of the Year, at this event. Following the presentation there will be a Q&A and book signing. My American Dream
My American Dream
by Lidia Bastianich

I've always enjoyed the tidbits Lydia shared in her cookbooks and show about her family and history. My American Dream brings it all together. Lydia's story is inspiring, entertaining, and might make you hungry for a classic Italian dinner.

The Serpent_s Secret
