We're here for you with updates each Friday covering what's open, where to order from, local businesses to support and what to do while practicing social distancing.

If you have questions, we urge you to join the Mayor's live Q&A sessions, hosted on the City of Gig Harbor Facebook page each Tuesday and Friday at 10:00 AM. You do not need a Facebook account to watch, but you will need one to comment or ask questions.

The Mayor is also on KGHP 89.9 FM each Wednesday at 1:00 PM for live updates.

Resources for Individuals
Benefits are available for self-employed workers

Unemployment benefits are now available Washingtonians who have lost work because of the COVID-19 crisis—including freelancers, independent contractors and other self-employed workers. The new federal CARES Act makes this possible.

If you’re a self-employed worker who’s lost income in this crisis (real estate agents, business owners, independent contractors, photographers, freelancers), you may now qualify for unemployment benefits. The amount of financial help varies. But if your application is approved, you will be paid at least the minimum weekly benefit amount, and if that amount is at least $1 per week, you will also receive an additional $600 weekly from March 29 to July 25.

These benefits are also available retroactively to the date of your lost work.
