We’re happy to announce that following today's hearing, California’s AB 1720
will not advance.
AB 1720 would have imposed government price controls on ticket resale, capping resale prices at 10% above the original ticket price and placing new restrictions on marketplace fees. AB 1720 would also have given more power to primary ticketers while reducing competition and consumer choice for fans.
The CTF team has worked tirelessly toward this outcome, and we could not be more pleased to share this news. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part in the California effort and stood with us throughout this fight.
This is an important win, but the work doesn’t stop here.
