Dear Siblings in Christ,
The Search Committee invites individuals and parishes to use this prayer to hold the Search Committee, those individuals who are discerning God's call on their lives to become our next bishop, and all of us in the diocese as we collectively discern and welcome the Holy Spirit to fill us with her grace during this work.
Almighty God, giver of every good gift: send forth your light and your truth, that they may lead us in discerning who we are as Christ's church now, and who God is calling us to be in our next season of shared ministry; so guide the hearts and minds of those who shall choose a bishop for this diocese, that we may receive a faithful shepherd, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
During this season of transition, our diocese continues to rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we begin the process of looking for our next bishop. We are entering a time of discernment where we listen to God’s call in our lives and our community. Part of this discernment is looking at where we are at this place in time and where we would like to be in the future.
We want you to be part of this discernment. We will be launching an online survey on Sunday, August 2nd and will keep it open for your responses until Sunday, August 30th. We will send out reminders each week with the link to make sure everyone has a chance to respond.

Additionally, we need your help in sharing this information. Please remind and encourage your fellow parishioners to sign up for this mailing list at diocesewnc.org/newsletter and participate in the upcoming surveys.
