Dear Community Leaders and Members of Anne Arundel County,
Thank you to everyone who joined us this past Monday to kick off Women’s History Month at our Michelle Obama Awards! We were proud to honor 14 incredible women who embody this year’s theme: “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations.” Follow us on Facebook to be the first to see photos from this inspiring event when we post them.
Have you ever wondered where stormwater in Anne Arundel County goes and how it gets there? Join us on Wednesday, March 26, at noon for our next EngageArundel Webinar, Stormwater in Anne Arundel County, featuring experts from the Department of Public Works and Inspections & Permits.
We’re also making a small but important change—our newsletter will now be delivered bi-weekly instead of weekly. This allows us to bring you meaningful updates, insights, and key community news while giving you a little more breathing room between editions. Don’t worry—we’ll still keep you informed about the latest events, opportunities, and important updates!
As always, we appreciate your support and engagement and look forward to keeping you in the loop!
Vincent Moulden

Why DEI?
Published: February 28, 2025
With an administration in Washington mistakenly believing that it has a mandate to join the world’s dictators in attacking our institutions, our security apparatus, our economy, and the values enshrined in the Constitution of the United States of America, we are called on to defend things that we don’t often think about.
Lately, I’ve had to explain why I believe democracy is better than authoritarianism, why we shouldn’t deport our essential, law-abiding workers when we have a labor shortage, and why we seek to build strong organizations and communities through proven management strategies like promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

If your nonprofit could benefit from financial assistance, we have two options:
-
Apply for a scholarship. Please email kristen@cfaac.org to see if your organization is eligible.
-
Use the 2 for 1 deal. This is the perfect opportunity to bring along a coworker or key volunteer. Or, boost your board engagement by bringing a member of your board for free!
This one-day event is designed specifically for small to mid-sized nonprofits. Focused on practicality, the main goal of our conference is to provide you with hands-on, take-home tools that you can implement right away.
We know you already have the motivation and skills to accomplish your mission. We want to be your pragmatic partner by sharing usable tools that can be applied to your daily work. Why create a document from scratch when a nonprofit neighbor or trusted consultant is willing to share their template! We want to make processes less of a challenge by providing free tools to you. You'll take home a Board Matrix template, Strategic Roadmap, Implementation Plan, infographic on collaboration, and more.
