Dear Community Leaders and Members of Anne Arundel County,

I hope that everyone has enjoyed the slight break in the rain, and that many of you were able to particiapat in Bike to Work day this morning!

Tonight is the last public hearing on County Executive Pittman's proposed FY23 Budget. This is an in-person meeting and will take place at North County High School at 7 pm. We hope to see you there! Additionally, please tell us what you think about the County Executive’s Budget by taking one of our quick three-question surveys, which can be found HERE.

There are lots of opportunities to give public comment on various projects throughout the county, so please make sure to scroll down and read that section.

Community Association and Civic Organization Registration
The County Executive’s Office of Community Engagement & Constituent Services aims to give residents ready access to their government and work to resolve community concerns. Our team is devoted to making sure Anne Arundel County residents feel supported by and connected to their local community and County government.

One way our office can connect to your community is through our Community Association and Civic Organization Registration program. Registering with our office will allow us to provide updates on county projects and initiatives specific to your community.

Grant Opportunities
African American Heritage Preservation Program
Application deadline: July 1, 2022, at 11:59 p.m.

The African American Heritage Preservation Program (AAHPP) provides grants to assist in the preservation of buildings, sites, or communities of historical and cultural importance to the African American experience in Maryland. The AAHPP is administered as a partnership between the Maryland Historical Trust and the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture. Grants range from $10,000 to a maximum of $100,000.

Anne Arundel County Seeks Public Input on Future of Jumpers Hole Road
The public comment period is open until June 5, 2022

Anne Arundel County is conducting a study to explore potential improvements for traffic operations, safety, and accessibility for all travel modes along Jumpers Hole Road from MD Route 2 to MD Route 177. The study is underway with collaboration among the County’s partners at the Maryland Department of Transportation and biking and walking advocates.

Charter Revision Commission Seeks Comments on Proposed County Charter Updates Draft Report
The Anne Arundel County Charter Revision Commission’s Draft Report on the Charter has been made available for public review and comment. A copy is available on the Commission’s website. Members of the public are encouraged to comment on this report through May 25, 2022, using the Commission’s online testimony tool.
Walk & Roll Anne Arundel!
Comment period extended to May 27

Walk & Roll Anne Arundel! will encompass the entire County and support the objectives of the approved Move Anne Arundel! transportation functional master plan. Move Anne Arundel! calls for safe, accessible and equitable mobility alternatives to motor vehicles in order to relieve traffic congestion, protect the environment, improve health and create a more attractive place to live, work, learn and play.

The Office of Planning and Zoning has created interactive online Feedback Maps for Regions 2, 4, and 7. For more information on the Region Plan process or to access the maps, visit: aacounty.org/regionplans or visit any public library in Regions 2, 4, or 7 to participate in person.

Residents can view a calendar of upcoming meetings in their area, review site plans and other documents, attend virtual meetings, watch previously recorded meetings, and provide public comments directly to the Office of Planning and Zoning - all through the new Community Meetings website.
