Dear Community Leaders and Members of Anne Arundel County,

We hope everyone stayed safe and dry throughout the storm yesterday. Unfortunately, due to the conditions, we had to postpone our District 7 Budget Town Hall, and we will announce the new date shortly, so stay tuned!

Last week, CECS hosted a webinar on Budget Advocacy, which nearly 100 people joined. We shared information on best practices for researching your testimony and demonstrating a coalition of support and even made it into the County Executive's Weekly Letter. Attendees received a Budget Toolkit to assist them, which you can access here.

Lastly, I am pleased to share that the application period for the County Executive's Community Support Grants Program is now open! There will be a virtual training held on Thursday, January 18th, at 11:00 a.m. (training will be recorded and posted for those who cannot attend). Applicants can RSVP to Ms. Bobbie Sullivan at [email protected] for the training and also reach out to her if they need any assistance accessing or navigating the application.

Anne Arundel County Damage Assessment Portal

The Office of Emergency Management has opened the damage assessment portal to gather data on damages caused by the severe weather event that resulted in coastal flooding on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, and Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Damage assessment is a critical process after a severe incident or disaster. Preeti Emrick, the Director of the Office of Emergency Management, emphasizes that “data collection helps determine the severity of impact disasters have on individuals and communities, which helps us prepare for future events.”

Residents and businesses can report damage from the severe weather event by filling out the Anne Arundel County Damage Assessment Data Collection form through Friday, January 19th, 2024.
