An Update from the Rector Search Committee
October 7, 2021

Dear Fellow Parishioners,

We are grateful for the tremendous parish participation we have had through the survey and focus groups, efforts which have been ongoing for more than two months now. Nearly 800 parishioners completed the survey and to date we have had a large number of people participate in focus groups, with more to come this weekend. Thank you for all of your time and thoughtful responses. If you did not register to participate in a focus group but would like to, you may drop-in on Sunday in Hampton Hall at 10:05 and you’ll be placed in a group. (Note: seats will be available on a first-come-first-served basis.)

The next step for the Rector Search Committee is to create a parish profile that reflects who we are and what we are looking for in our next rector. The survey and focus groups provide key insights for the parish profile. The parish profile will be available on our website in the coming few weeks and once published, we will begin the nominations process. Details about how you can participate in this element of the search will be provided soon.

We have worked with the Diocese to create a list of FAQs which we anticipate will answer many questions about the search process. You can find this document on our webpage at stgeorgesnashville.org/rectorsearch. We will also have information tables on October 31, November 7 and November 14 outside of Legacy Hall and in the Gathering Space for parishioners who want to stop by and ask questions of Committee members. If you have additional questions or feedback for the Committee, please contact us directly at [email protected].

As evidenced by the spectacular participation we’ve had to date, this is a vibrant church and we are so thankful for each and every one of you. Thank you for your continued prayers in the weeks and months ahead, and for patience as this process continues.

Faithfully,

Jason Callen & Amy Norton
