You may already be aware that global supply chain shortages continue to impact many industries around the world, including publishing, due to COVID-19. From critical issues facing staffing, printing, container shortages, and port congestions, delays are significantly impacting the process of getting books printed and shipped.

In partnership with this year’s publisher, Simon & Schuster, we have worked closely to ensure timely delivery of this year’s campaign book and to plan for these disruptions.

We know that many of you are juggling your own distribution plans to get books into your classrooms and communities. We originally anticipated books to begin shipping in early September, but due to a lack of shipping containers and unexpected port closures, Jumpstart’s campaign books are currently estimated to arrive and begin shipping the first week in October.
Although the supply chain issues are beyond our control, Jumpstart’s Read for the Record is pursuing a variety of options in order to ensure you receive your books as soon as possible and that you are able to participate this year. Please look out for an additional update regarding these opportunities and ongoing shipment updates for this year as soon as we receive additional information.

Once orders begin shipping, you should receive an automatic confirmation with tracking information for your order.

Thank you so much for taking part in this global celebration of early literacy. As an education non-profit serving thousands of young children in preschools around the country, we see your unwavering dedication to supporting young children in and out of the classroom, and look forward to working with you to put children first.
