Greetings!

The Accreditation Program is one of the most significant ways that the IEA promotes excellence, experience and integrity in the teaching and professional use of the Enneagram.

When facing a plethora of offerings from teachers, coaches and professionals with widely varying levels of Enneagram expertise, people look for the IEA Accredited Logo to trust they will receive well-trained, experienced and ethical Enneagram teachings and professional services. If you are teaching or using the Enneagram in your professional work, consider becoming accredited to stand out and demonstrate the depth of your training and experience and your commitment to integrity and high quality!

There are now approximately 275 IEA Accredited Professionals all over the world and over 75 IEA Accredited Training Programs offered and taught exclusively by our Accredited Professionals. Each IEA Accredited Training Program is sponsored by an individual IEA Accredited Professional or by one of our 22 IEA Accredited Enneagram Schools. All of these professionals and programs have agreed to abide by and share with their students the IEA’s Ethical Guidelines and Code of Ethics.

In the past, we've required in-person, interactive training for accreditation because we know it offers much deeper understanding, insight and nuance than simply reading or listening to information. However, during the Covid-19 Pandemic we've seen IEA Accredited Professionals and Programs demonstrate incredible creativity and commitment in continuing to offer high-quality opportunities for individual and group learning using online formats that support and facilitate interaction and integration. Therefore, we've adapted the requirements for NEW applications to reflect these formats. You will find the revised IEA Accredited Professional Requirements and AP Scoring System, along with a link to the AP application form, and the revised IEA Accredited Training Program Requirements on the IEA’s website.

We have also moved our process for applying for – and managing the public profiles for – IEA Accredited Training Programs and Schools online. The sponsoring Accredited Professional can go to www.IEANinePoints.com and log in through the “My Account” tab then click “My Profiles” to view their Accredited programs. They can apply for a new ATP or AES accreditation by first clicking to create a new profile with all requested information. Once the profile is completed, click the button to “Register” the profile to begin the approval process.

Accreditation applications are considered by the IEA’s Accreditation Committee which is composed of current and former IEA Board members, at least a majority of whom are themselves IEA Accredited Professionals. Once approved, the Accredited Professional, Training Program and/or School will appear on the IEA’s online directories on the website and on IEA NinePoints and will be searchable by students and others looking for high quality, ethical Enneagram teaching, consultation or other professional work. A new look and functional enhancements to IEA Nine Points are in development and will be rolled out this spring. The new site will be much more engaging and informative with posted events taught by Accredited Professionals and Programs tagged as “Accredited” to highlight them.

We look forward to collaborating with you in increasing and maintaining the highest standards of excellence and integrity in bringing the wisdom of the Enneagram to the world!

Carla Smith
IEA Board Co-President and Chair of Accreditation Committee
