Hello AARCS!

I wanted to reach out to send you my sincerest thanks for your generosity and willingness to step up for the five sick cats we took in recently. 🐈 These kitties were in poor shape, suffering from Upper Respiratory Infections and nasty ear infections that prevented them from being spayed and neutered and finding homes.

I have good news to start! Three of the cats are looking SO MUCH BETTER after two weeks of treatment! 🐾 Their eyes are clearing up and looking bright, and they have some spunk. I walked into their isolation room to find two very playful kitties, and one hiding but comfortable and happy! Chilo, Tigris and Musya are on their way to better health thanks to our incredible veterinary team. πŸ₯ When these cats first came to us, they were a little spicy for their initial exams -- understandable, given how sick they were at the time. Now, Chilo and Tigris are happy, lovable little beans! Musya is less keen about people, but looking better. πŸˆβ€β¬› We'll take it!

Unfortunately, I also have some sad news. πŸ’”

The other two cats, Barsik and Kytsia, were in worse shape than the others. 😿 Our veterinarians worked hard to help them and did everything they could to treat them, but they were not responding to treatment and were only getting worse. Barsik and Kystia were suffering, and to prolong that suffering would have been unfair to them.

Our hearts are shattered as we share the news that Barsik and Kytsia have crossed the rainbow bridge. Days like this are some of the hardest in the world of rescue, but we take comfort in knowing that helping them across the bridge to find peace was one final act of kindness that we could give to them. 🐾🌈

We are so grateful to you for helping these five precious souls. Your kindness means everything. Even though we lost Barsik and Kystia, they experienced love and care, possibly for the first time in their lives. We would not be able give that to animals like these sweet kitties without your help. On behalf of the entire AARCS team, thank you for being a hero to animals in need. πŸ’š
