Dear Friends,
This has been an incredible and tremendous year, to say the least. COVID-19 shifted the majority of our processes from in-person to virtual and has opened new pathways to serving our kids. Our team has done an incredible job of thinking on their feet, adjusting their approach and response to the changing needs of our youth, and shouldering the tremendous amount of work needed to support our kids. As a result, StandUp had one of its most successful years with 97% of the 2019-20 class either graduating or continuing with classes. Additionally, we have maintained a consistent street presence, as we have for the last 17 years. The longest running program of its kind!
2020 has not been without challenges. Shifting support for pandemic needs resulted in the loss of state funding that supported our efforts and programs. This represents a shortfall of $114,000. While we continuously seek out replacement funding, StandUp Atlanta is asking directly for your assistance.
Spread the word! Tell your company about us, mention us to your church or within your social media circles. If you have come in by way of training or volunteering, as a group you know who we are and what we do...please share with your circles of influence. We need your support and introduction to new audiences to keep doing what we love doing ...ending the cycle of youth homelessness one mentee or street kid at a time.
