The workforce housing project at Mililani High School is moving into the next stage of development! At the Mililani-Waipi‘o Neighborhood Board meeting on August 27, Cheri Nakamura, SFA’s program and policy officer, announced SFA and developer Pacific Housing Assistance Corporation will be entering the pre-construction stage of the workforce housing project.
She noted that a key part of the pre-construction stage is an Environmental Assessment (EA) process, which involves identifying and assessing any potential impacts of the proposed housing project on natural, historic or cultural resources. Specifically, the EA process will explore any impact on plants and animals, archaeological features, cultural practices, traffic or noise levels.
“We want to build responsibly and to minimize the impact to the Mililani community. The EA process will include opportunities for the community to share their thoughts and perspectives, which we value,” Nakamura said.
