Greetings!

This week we're presenting D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts, Jennifer Terzian Gallery and 6 Bridges Gallery.

While a lot of artwork can be a collaborative process, sometimes it pays to go it alone. This week, three artists are featured in solo shows across New England where they let their work speak for them and them alone - from woodcuts of extraordinary women to paintings that capture the endless expanse of the sky.

We are happy to announce that the upcoming May / June edition of Artscope Magazine will be featured in the magazine sector of Art Basel Switzerland.

in Springfield, Massachusetts, April 27 through February 23

D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts presents Look Again: Portraits of Daring Women by Leverett-based artist Julie Lapping Rivera. Rivera's series of hand-carved woodcut and collage prints is "an homage to exceptional, pioneering women working across centuries," according to a curatorial statement. Her highly detailed prints accompany extraordinary women like Sylvia Plath, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Ida B. Wells, and Henrietta Lacks with a poem, written specifically for the series, by local and international women poets. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts, part of Springfield Museums, is located at 21 Edwards Street, Springfield, MA. Kirstin Lamb: Woods at Jennifer Terzian Gallery

in Litchfield, Connecticut, from April 27 through June 15

Jennifer Terzian Gallery presents Kirstin Lamb: Woods, a show that highlights the work of Rhode Island-based painter Kirstin Lamb whose recent series of labor-intensive grid-based paintings focus on the beauty of lush, green New England forests. Lamb's work is a "blur between a focused Photorealism, a computer-generated pattern and a fetishized repetition of an acrylic paint mark," according to the artist. The gallery is open by appointment only. Email info@jenniferterziangallery.com to schedule a viewing. Jennifer Terzian Gallery is located at 3BB South Street Litchfield, CT. For more information, please visit here.

Horizons at 6 Bridges Gallery

in Maynard, Massachusetts through May 18

Gail Erwin, Tranquil Sea. Image courtesy 6 Bridges Gallery.

6 Bridges Gallery presents Horizons, a show highlighting painter Gail Erwin whose latest series explores the sky's horizons in all their colors and moods. "Expansive and unbound horizons engender feelings of unlimited possibilities and opportunities," Erwin wrote in a statement. "It's an invitation to dream and see beyond now." From somber grey skies to fiery sunsets, Erwin's work captures the expanse of the sky's wide horizons. The gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 6 Bridges Gallery is located at 77 Main Street, Maynard MA. For more information, please visit here.
