An Update from Pastor Ben
Dear people of Holy Trinity,

In the six years that I have had the privilege to be one of your pastors, we have been through a lot. Together we've celebrated baptisms and weddings, we've grieved and comforted each other at funerals, we've blessed pets in the in the park with painted faces, and we've caroled after church in our pajamas, or a Chewbacca onesie in my case, complete with a delicious mug of the Peterson's famous glogg. Through it all Holy Trinity has been a place of true accompaniment. You have even put up with all of the various hairstyles I've attempted along the way, and for that I thank you. I mean, what was I thinking during that John the Baptist bearded phase?!

In all seriousness, serving at Holy Trinity has been such a personally and professionally formative experience. Being surrounded by so many amazing people has been the opportunity of a lifetime for me to develop as a pastor and grow as a human. But, ultimately I have discerned that serving in campus ministry is what I am called to do full time. Thus, I have decided to accept a call to serve as the full time pastor of a brand new campus ministry that is being formed in Dearborn and Detroit Michigan on the campuses of Henry Ford College, the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and Wayne State University. This new position will begin for me on July 5th. That means my last Saturday and Sunday with Holy Trinity will be on May 29th and 30th.

This timeline will leave us with a month full of heartfelt goodbyes. Leaving a church as good as Holy Trinity is a hard thing to do, but I am eternally grateful for the opportunity I have had to serve this community. Be on the lookout for some going away events that are in the works. In the meantime if you have any thoughts, concerns, or questions, I am happy to chat. Don't hesitate to reach out or just reply to this email!
Sincerely,

Pastor Ben
