My Friends,

As you well know, the Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter is a place whose mission is near and dear to my heart. I serve on the board of the Friends of that organization and do all I can to support them.

That shelter an essential place that makes such a difference in our community. And it needs the community's support to keep doing its work.

Here's just one example of how we can help. Every year, the shelter's vet bills keep going up -- they cost more than ten thousand dollars every single month. And that is a place where cutting back on costs simply isn't an option.

A few years ago, I came up with an idea that would give everyone a chance to participate and help to make a difference for this worthy organization, even if you are only here part of the year or have only visited. I find that many people like to support organizations like this one, they simply need a reminder and easy way to do it.

Below, you will see a list of local businesses that have provided donations to help us raise money for this wonderful place. We hope you'll check out the list and see if there is anything here that interests you. We've set a minimum bid for each item, but of course, there is no maximum bid. And all of the proceeds will go to FOSOCAS. (Also, these offers have no expiration date, so they can be used next season.)

If you'd like to participate, please just email me (click here) to let us know which items you would like to bid on and the highest amount you would like to bid on each. If you are the winning bidder, we will contact you via email. The auction will close on Thursday, August 31st. If you are not local and are a winning bidder, we will ship your items to you.

And if you would like to make a contribution outside this auction, please make out your check to FOSOCAS and mail it to me at Box 459, Barnegat Light, NJ 08006.
