Dear CTOM Community,

Thank you for your continued support following the disappointing news from SCSU that they would not be able to host the Tournament on campus. We promised you additional details a nd despite the setback, we remain committed to providing creative alternatives.

After all, we are first and foremost, OMers!   The Board and Problem captains met this week and put our spontaneous skills to work. Our goal? Provide fun, easy to implement solutions which are inclusive of all teams and keep our participants safe!

Teams -- Are you ready!?!

Download your  Participation Certificate :
This certificate acknowledges our OMers for their efforts, creativity and participation in Odyssey of the Mind. If you submit a photo of your team receiving their certificates, we will post it to our Facebook page and give them a shout out.

Submit photos to [email protected]
Our tournament season wouldn’t be the same without our annual popular end-of-season video. We will select from photos submitted between now and April 10th. Details can be found  here

Receive Solution Feedback:
Our problem captains and some judges have volunteered to review (but not score) teams' solutions via video and provide informal feedback. If you choose to participate, your team will receive some of our famous post-it-note comments. If you are interested, email the Association Director your problem, division and member # and details will follow. Teams should not rush get their solutions recorded. We stress that parental concerns for the safety of their student and their families is a top priority in making this decision.

Stay tuned for information on how to obtain merchandise:
Our merchandise volunteer created some wonderful new designs.  Details of a new e-Commerce site where teams can purchase our 2020 T-shirts, Pins, and other memorabilia will be coming soon.

None of these alternatives can replace the experience of the Tournament itself. However, we hope they will help ease the disappointment and provide a sense of pride among your teams. They worked hard and we are all very proud of them.

Like all of us at CTOM, local communities and state leaders are in uncharted territory as we navigate the impact of COVID-19 and implement the recommendations of public-health officials. As a STEAM-based learning program, we respect their scientific expertise and judgment. If this helps us all keep each other safe, we applaud everyone's 'spirit of the problem' effort to make the best of the situation.

Additional program information will follow in the coming days.

 Best regards,

CTOM Board of Directors
CTOM Problem Captains
