My friend,

Here's a quick update on what I've been working on in Washington, DC, Staten Island and Southern Brooklyn...
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE HILL
I was honored to be invited on a bipartisan Congressional Delegation with the House Foreign Affairs Committee to the Middle East to meet with the new Israeli government and strengthen our relationship with our country's allies in the region.

While I was overseas, we visited the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar where I had the pleasure of meeting with Major Lopez from Staten Island and receive briefings on our country's relationship with Iran. Thank you for your service to our country and we look forward to your safe return to our community!
‘We weren’t Republicans, we weren’t Democrats’: Malliotakis says Middle East trip united bipartisan delegation
Discussing mutual security concerns and strengthening alliances were integral in the U.S. congressional delegation’s (CODEL) trip to the Middle East last week.

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis was part of the bipartisan CODEL that visited government officials in Israel, Palestine, and Qatar to build on diplomatic relations and discuss their common security interests in the region.
I joined House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, Minority Whip Steve Scalise, and GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik in highlighting the public safety crisis across our country because of anti-police policies passed and rhetoric used in Democrat-run cities.

We stand for law and order and will always support our men and women in blue!
IN THE DISTRICT
I enjoyed throwing the first pitch at the Cyclones game and, afterwards, I joined the Lieutenants Benevolent Association, Captains Endowment Association, and NYPD Chief Rodney Harrison to distribute scholarships to the sons and daughters of our brave NYPD officers. This is what Brooklyn is all about; supporting our local sports team, our youth and our community.
I'm working with the leadership from Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn to help them get new equipment to better serve the community. The hospital was recently named one of the top 10 hospitals in the United States for community health investment & I am proud to represent them!
My office was pleased to announce that the Department of Health and Human Services awarded the Richmond University Health Center $400,00 in federal grants for mental health and substance abuse services at the Staten Island Children's Trauma Center and $127,037 in federal grants to the College of Staten Island for neurological research. I'm happy to see residents' taxpayer dollars return to support these critical services and programs in our community!
IN THE NEWS
Malliotakis blasts Democrats' human infrastructure plan as 'socialism'
I appeared on Fox Business to discuss the Senate's bipartisan infrastructure negotiations, the Democrats' push for more bloated spending that's raising the cost of gas, food, travel & consumer goods on everyday Americans.
Cuomo, Malliotakis, and other officials call on Congress to repeal the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction cap
Cuomo wasn’t the only official this week to call on Senator Schumer and others to address the SALT deduction cap. Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), founding member of the bipartisan SALT Caucus, joined Rep. Andrew Garbarino (NY-02) and other colleagues in the House in sending a letter to Congressional leadership regarding the SALT deduction cap issue.
Mayor says he wants Staten Islanders ‘treated fairly’ in NYC congestion pricing plan as Malliotakis continues push against double tolling
“Congestion pricing is nothing more than another tax on drivers in the left’s war against cars,” Malliotakis (R-Staten Island/South Brooklyn) said in an emailed statement.

“The Mayor and Governor (Andrew Cuomo) should commit now to the people of Staten Island that they will not be double tolled and will receive a credit for toll we already pay to connect to the rest of the city toward any congestion fee imposed.”
