The BEST Initiative staff want to formally let you know how we are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a project of Health Resources in Action (HRiA), we at the BEST Initiative value our collaborators, communities, and staff above all else. We feel it is our responsibility as a public health institute to demonstrate best practices in public health to limit community spread of COVID-19 to the extent of our abilities. In the interest of promoting public safety, we are reworking our trainings and will release an updated calendar once we know more (to the extent possible) in the next couple of weeks. For our upcoming trainings, we plan to:
Cancel our “Spring Youth Worker Certificate Training” (slated to start on April 7th). We will be back in the Fall.
Postpone "Creating Restorative Communities" until June, based on how things are shaping up with the COVID-19 pandemic and the facilitator's availability.
Postpone "What We Bring: White Youth Workers in Communities of Color" until June based on how things are shaping up with the COVID-19 pandemic and the facilitator's availability.
And for now, "Integrating Icebreakers and Games Into Your Programs" will go on as scheduled
Thank you for your understanding as we work together to keep our communities safe and healthy. If any of this changes, we will share that information on our website and via email.
