March 2021
Our FAITH is the foundation of our COMMUNICATIONS
Talking Heads LIVE

Meet up with fellow communicators at our Talking Heads LIVE webinars! Every month, we’ll discuss topics that impact your work as we hear from AC members and friends.

These gatherings are scheduled for the fourth Friday of the month at 12 p.m. ET and are open to anyone, not just AC members. However, due to Zoom capacity, these events are limited to the first 100 people who register.
Join us for our March Talking Heads LIVE on Friday, March 26, 12–1 p.m. EST!

Creating a denominational hymnal is a complex process. In the case of the new Voices Together hymnal recently launched by Mennonite Church USA and MC Canada, thousands of people across North America were consulted. The hymnal committee had to balance tradition and innovation, making sure to include people’s beloved heart songs while making room for new voices, songs from around the world, and more female composers.

Join Hymnal Committee members Darryl Neustaedter-Barg, Adam Tice, and Katie Graber on March 26, at noon EST for a behind-the-scenes look at the editorial, marketing, and promotion of the new hymnal. They will also share stories (both funny or frightening) of what occurred along the way to creating a new worship resource for MC USA and MC Canada.
Members – if you can’t make it, check the Membership Portal for a recording after the event!
Save the date for the next Talking Heads LIVE webinar:
  • Friday, April 23, 12–1 p.m. EDT “Tending your Social Media: Lessons from the Garden” with Renata Buhler and Anna Yoder

Highlight your work on our AC blog

Members, we would love to highlight your writing, photography, artwork, etc. on our AC blog! Many of you noted when you signed up for membership that you have a blog or you regularly write for your organization's website. And from what we see on Facebook, we know that several of you are skilled in the arts!

We would include your byline and bio on anything we share and post a link to it on our social media pages. Potential blogs will be vetted by the AC board to make sure they comply with our mission and values.

To submit a blog for consideration, email us!
Catch up with all things AC
on our Membership Portal

AC members can access recordings of Talking Heads LIVE events and presentations from past conferences through the Membership Portal on the AC website. If you haven't yet set up your password to access the portal, this would be a great time to do it!

New AC members received emails with a personalized link; the emails came from no-reply@editmysite.com and were titled "Welcome to www.anabaptistcomm.org!" — just in case yours ended up in your spam folder. Members who renewed should still be able to access your account from last year.

Check out the Religion Communicators Convention 2021

Opening New Portals: Building Community is the theme of the April 6–9, 2021, joint online convention of the Associated Church Press, Religion Communicators Council and Canadian Christian Communicators Association. While this is not an AC event, it's for faith-based communicators, and we wanted you to know about it! Presenters include our own AC members John Longhurst (AC board chair and CCCA president) and Danielle Klotz and Paul Schrag of Anabaptist World.
You are receiving this email because you have connected with Anabaptist Communicators through membership and/or participation in one or more of our events. We don't send a lot of emails and would be glad to stay in touch with you! You can manage your subscription preferences below if needed.
