The City of Anaheim has announced that it is accepting applications this week from Anaheim renters who are struggling with the economic impacts of the coronavirus and wish to be considered for its Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
Applications will be accepted online and program materials are available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. Qualified applicants will be selected on a first come, first served basis as long as funding is available.
The highlights of the Emergency Rental Assistance Program are as follows:
- Assistance with arrears and/or current rent for a maximum of 3 months – capped at $2,100 per household.
- Need must be COVID 19 related.
- Rental unit must be in Anaheim and household must be income qualified.
In order to prevent displacements, the city will review applications and inform all selected recipients of the grant amounts before the city eviction moratorium is lifted on June 30, 2020.
AAOC is encouraging its members to provide this information to their residents who may benefit from program assistance.
