WE EMPOWER FAMILIES THANKSGIVING EVENT
Thursday, Nov. 3rd | Registration Open!
Anawim Housing is hosting our very special annual event to support those moving into Anawim from homelessness - the We Empower Families ThanksGIVING event! Join us for an evening of moving stories of resiliency, food, drink and community.

When: Thursday, Nov. 3rd
Time: 5:30 - 7:30 PM
Where: Mainframe Studios | 900 Keo Way, Des Moines

Special Artist Feature: For this year's event, we are combining art with our mission of developing stable homes and strengthening people and communities. Held at Mainframe Studios, the event will feature a captivating photographic display by Photographer Joe Crimmings titled: Project Des Moines. The display aims to challenge the idea of what homelessness looks like, level the playing field, and create room for exploration of thoughts, biases and stigmas.

Registration is now open! Event is free and open to all. We invite you to come learn more about We Empower Families and help make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

FALL TOUR OF HOMES
JOIN US OCTOBER 12TH!
Join us for the Anawim Housing Fall Tour of Homes! Catch a ride with us to see and tour Anawim's diverse housing solutions within our community - spanning from affordable housing to permanent supportive housing for those who have come to Anawim from homelessness.

There were will be TWO tour time options:
11:00 - 12PM OR 12:30 - 1:30PM

Featuring Cynthia Latcham, Executive Director
If you've had a chance to flip through the new Sept/Oct issue of dsm Magazine, you may spot Anawim's Executive Director Cynthia Latcham, featured in the Women Leaders and Incredible Nonprofits and the Women Behind Them sections! We're proud to feature our wonderful executive director alongside all the talented women professionals listed in this issue.

Cynthia shared with dsm her guiding principles: Always treat people with dignity and respect. Leave people better than you find them. Look for victories and celebrate them. Give credit to your staff for organizational success. Be mindful of the direct impact our organization's choices have on those we serve

ANAWIM CUTS THE RIBBON ON OUR NEW HOME
This past month, we celebrated moving into our new office space on 48th Street in Des Moines with a special ribbon cutting ceremony and open house. Thank you to the Des Moines West Side Chamber and Fuse DSM Chamber for partnering with us and to our Anawim Housing board members, staff and all who attended!

We are excited to be in a space that greatly meets the needs of our growing team, keeps us centralized in our community and allows for expansion of housing solutions and services for those in need.
