ANAWIM TO RECIEVE 2.25 MILLION FROM HUD
Anawim Housing is proud to announce that we are the largest provider of Permanent Supportive Housing in Iowa. On January 26th, The Department of Housing and Urban Development announced that they were renewing funding to thousands of local homeless programs. Anawim Housing is set to receive 2.25 million to renew our Permanent Supportive Housing Programs, which currently house over 300 individuals.

These funds are critical to helping us continue the work we do and help the most vulnerable find housing, safety, and stability.
THANK YOU TO OUR ANAWIM SWEETHEARTS
This Valentine's Day had us saying THANK YOU to all of our Anawim sweethearts that donated household items to be gifted to families and individuals in need, moving into housing! Items were collected at our Fall Women Empowering Families ThanksGIVING event.

Program Manager Scott Sithonnorath is pictured getting ready to deliver several laundry baskets full of wonderful home necessities to program tenants that just moved into permanent supportive housing with Anawim Housing. These residents all came from homelessness and had very little to nothing for their home. We thank you for your generosity and support!

Stay tuned for a save the date coming for our WEF Spring WEF Event!

POVERTY SIMULATION WITH UNITED WAY
Anawim had the unique opportunity to experience a Poverty simulation brought to us by United Way of Central Iowa. In the simulation, participants assumed the role of a single parent with two children facing poverty in Central Iowa - and the very difficult sacrifices and decisions that would be made in order to simply get by.

With over 44% of Anawim households being single-mother-led, this simulation was an important opportunity to see through each others eyes, share compassion and spark discussion.
