Anawim Housing has appointed Cynthia Latcham as Executive Director. Latcham was promoted to this new position within the organization after serving as Director of Programs and Services for Anawim Housing for the past three years.

Latcham has demonstrated great expertise, leadership and ongoing study in the fields of permanent supportive housing and homelessness throughout the state of Iowa.  Her passion is to end homelessness in Polk County and Iowa through broad system changes and addressing injustice, systemic poverty and trauma.

"Cynthia will continue Anawim's expansive growth of our programs as we bring our unique and successful services to the broader central Iowa community and beyond," Russ Frazier.

Russ Frazier will remain as President of Anawim Housing and Allterra Property Solutions, while Latcham will be in charge of Anawim's daily operations and expansion. Latcham formally assumed her new role in June 2020.
In our latest "Stories from the Field" blog, meet Scott McGinnis. Scott joined Anawim Housing this summer as a Program Manager. Welcome to the team, Scott!

Scott came to Anawim because he believes in the core of our mission. "I agree with the Housing First philosophy. If someone is hungry, you feed them first. It is the same premise at Anawim. If someone is homeless, you provide housing," says Scott.

Along with his work and knowledge around mental health and substance abuse, Scott is most interested in grief support and how to help people heal from grief and loss-related trauma.

Anawim Housing continues to provide services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The services we provide to our community are essential and we continue to take necessary steps to protect the health and safety of our staff and residents–as well as provide care, support and critical housing needs to over 2,000 individuals in our community. Like many nonprofit partners, our events that deliver our largest giving opportunities have been canceled due to the pandemic. Your support now and always is not only appreciated, it is directly funding multifaceted initiatives to end homelessness.
