ANAWIM PROGRAM STAFF PARTICIPATE IN FULL CIRCLE RETREAT ORGANIZED BY GDMLI COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP CLASS OF 2020
Anawim Housing program staff participated in a day long retreat centralized on Full Circle, Anawim's innovative peer support program. At Anawim, we believe our program participants hold the key to solving their own problems and we are here to support that growth and progress. The Full Circle retreat - organized by the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute's Community Leadership Class of 2020 - was in agreement with that same principle.

The retreat environment provided time, direction and space for our Program Team to step away from the daily rigors of their jobs and place their focus directly on Full Circle. The group set goals for the program's sustainability, growth and potential.

Talented graphic recorder, Nathan Wright, helped to capture thoughts and key take-aways in real time into an inspirational vision board for Anawim Housing.
CLEANUP AND RECOVERY AFTER DERECHO STORM
As a result of the derecho storm that swept Iowa and the Midwest, many of our properties and tenants experienced damage including: power loss, extensive tree damage, and damages to buildings and cars. In the moments directly following the derecho, our team sprung into action to help our residents, and ensure their safety.

The clean-up effort has been long and involved, but our maintenance team, property and program managers rose to the challenge. As of today, all tree damage has been cleared away.

Our program team visited and comforted their tenants - providing help and resources for new food after spoilage from long power outages.

BLOOD DRIVE - STAFF GIVE BACK
Anawim Housing was proud to join the Iowa Cubs for a blood drive they held this past month to support the Life Serve Blood Center.

Giving back to our community is central to our mission here at Anawim Housing. Thank you to all the staff who participated and helped others through their generous donation!

MAKE A DONATION TO ANAWIM HOUSING AND GIVE THE GIFT OF HOME AND SECURITY
Right now, a sense of security, stability, and home is needed more than ever for so many in our community.

Anawim Housing continues to provide services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The services we provide to our community are essential and we continue to take necessary steps to protect the health and safety of our staff and residents–as well as provide care, support and critical housing needs to over 2,000 individuals in our community. Like many nonprofit partners, our events that deliver our largest giving opportunities have been canceled due to the pandemic. Your support now and always is not only appreciated, it is directly funding multifaceted initiatives to end homelessness.
