As we settle into winter, it's hard to not be reminded of those without a warm home, a safe place to shelter, or family to lean on. A simple way to help in a big way is by making a financial donation to Anawim Housing, directly supporting and providing a hand-up to individuals experiencing homelessness in our community.

100% of your donation to Anawim Housing goes to support our programs and services - providing that warm home and support network for those who have experienced homelessness and live with mental illness, a substance disorder, a physical disability, a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS or are fleeing domestic violence.

95% of people who leave homelessness and enter into Anawim Housing Programs remain stably housed.

Housing ends homelessness. Anawim's Housing First model recognizes people need stable housing before pursing a happy, healthy life. And once that critical need is met they can focus on mental health, addiction, medical care, and income. We meet each person where they are at, providing customized support and utilizing proven methods to help them overcome their barriers.

HOME IS EVERYTHING ONLINE GIFT DRIVE!
Help us make a house a home for those moving into housing from homelessness this winter: Our Home is Everything Holiday Gift Drive is going on now through the end of the year!

We've made it easy! Shop our online Target Gift Registry to purchase high-need household items and have them delivered right to our office where they will be gifted to those moving into Anawim Housing from homelessness. Several wonderful items have already been delivered to us, but we're still in need and asking for your donations.

ANAWIM'S ReNew Crew ACKNOWLEDGED FOR COMPASSION IN EMPLOYING VETERANS
The Department of Veterans Affairs recently sent a letter of acknowledgment and appreciation to Scott Sithonnorath, Anawim ReNew Crew Manager, regarding the work Anawim Housing's ReNew Crew has done to assist and retain Veterans in life-changing employment with Renew Crew. 

Scott and the ReNew Crew team have made a conscious effort to employ Veterans by partnering with the Des Moines VA Hospital and their Vocational Rehabilitation Team and Therapeutic Supported Employment Services.

An excerpt from the letter:
"Your organization has done the remarkable by helping Veterans overcome their barriers and restart their lives with confidence and purpose. We realize that giving someone a much needed second chance is not always easy. However, Anawim Housing and Scott Sithonnorath have assisted so many who have needed help the most."

The Good Co. and Empowered Bridge Mindset Coaching
Thank you to our friends at The Good Co. and Empowered Bridge Mindset Coaching for hosting holiday events to benefit and support the mission of Anawim Housing:

The Good Go. hosted the Very Merry Photo Op where families signed up to take holiday photos amongst some festive and fun backdrops, including a cute Christmas RV! Event proceeds went to support Anawim Housing.

Empowered Bridge Mindset Coaching hosted a "Girls Night Christmas Jammies Dance Party and 'fun'draiser"! Proceeds supported Anawim Housing and Dream Catchers Foundation.
