Word from Food and Beverage Manager
We are currently reviewing applications for lifeguards (let us know if you know someone who is interested in a position) and will schedule the first meeting in May. We have also hired three new servers, Kennedy, Kevin and Madison. New uniforms were purchased for staff in order to present a more polished image. A new dining room menu should be out now, and a Pub menu will be presented to the BOD for approval before the pool opens in May.

We have many projects we are trying to tackle before summer arrives. These improvements will have a positive impact on the overall experience of our current members and new members. There will be some restoration of the Pub done to bring it up to a condition in time for yearly inspections.

Spring Cleanup will take place Saturday, April 13th and Sunday, April 14th 9 am – 3 pm. Donuts and coffee will be provided in the mornings and there will be a complimentary lunch. We would like to encourage all members to participate in this annual event. It allows each and every member to take ownership in our club and help make it look its BEST. If you’re not able to contribute physically, but would like to help out, donations can be given to Laurie in the office to purchase supplies, equipment, and all kinds of odds and ends needed to spruce things up. (Look for additional details on Clean Up below).

We are also looking for a large portable gas/propane cooker/grill. Please keep an eye out for it, the Club will need it in time for our Annual Oyster Roast. It's an additional expense, so we would like to own one instead of having to rent it each year.

We are trying to offer many opportunities for our members to come out to the Club in order to spend the food&beverage minimum. We encourage our members to do it before the very end of the month. We are doing our best to impress you and make it a great experience for everyone, but it's becoming harder to accomplish with an unpredictable number of guests and a large amount of to go orders on top of special functions needs.

We Need You……… on Club Beautification Day!
Summer will be here before we know it.  Members are invited and encouraged, if they are available, to come out to WYCC and help get our club ready for the summer season. This year Spring Beautification is planned for Saturday, April 13 th at 9:00am and likely Sunday, 14 th at 9:00am as well. Some of the tasks that will be attacked are:
Grounds                                                                               Pool Area
-helping Neil with fence to cover electrical panel         - remove pool cover
-pulling weeds                                                                    - power wash pool
-planting, etc - chairs and deck
-trimming back marked bushes                                        - checking equipment
-cleaning out flower beds
-mulching designated beds
-clearing debris from the tennis court
Please bring your spirit and pride along with the following equipment if you have it:
rakes, iron rakes, shovels, pitch forks, brooms, wheel barrows, trimming shears, loppers, hand clippers, electric clippers, weed whackers, pressure washers, outdoor extension cords, large/heavy plastic bags, and anything else you have that you think of. (make sure you mark your equipment though)
Woman, man, young, old……. you are needed.  There are jobs for everyone. So please come out! Let us know if you will be there, so we will count you in for lunch.

Successful completion fulfills VA State Boaters Safety requirements.

This is a comprehensive Boating Class for beginners and experienced boaters covering:

  • Boat purchase and maintenance
  • Required equipment
  • Navigation
  • Boat operation and handling
  • Nautical charts
  • Buoys
  • Marine Radio
  • VA State boating laws and more...

Classes will be held each Tuesday and Thursday for three consecutive weeks from 6:45 pm till 8:45 pm (Topside)
April 2nd through April 18th
with the final test on Wednesday, April 24th
