Word from Food and Beverage Manager
Spring is approaching fast, which means we will soon have our Annual Spring Clean Up. We are hoping for an active participation from all club members this year. We are beginning the process to hire for the summer work, so don't hesitate to refer a friend. The club calendar is filling up fast. We are already booking Graduation Parties. Contact us if you have something coming up so we can work out availability. We don't want you to miss out!
As most of you know the kitchen has been undergoing some changes over the winter, and we now have an updated hood and fire extinguishing systems to comply with the current state requirements.
Among some social events like Wine Tastings and Trivia nights there will be a few more to look forward to in the next couple months:

April - Swim Team Ice Cream Social, Easter Brunch and WYCC 1st Annual Shrimp Fest
May - Cinco de Mayo Celebration, Mother's Day Brunch, Flag Raising and Memorial Day Picnic
We will announce details for all events as the time approaches, so save the dates!

I'm pleased to announce that the Club has been very busy this past month. The Wine tasting and Prime Rib Night have been booked to the fullest. Make sure you get your reservations in early!

Boating Skills and Seamanship Class
(US Coast Guard Auxiliary)
Successful completion fulfills VA State Boaters Safety requirements.

This is a comprehensive Boating Class for beginners and experienced boaters covering:

  • Boat purchase and maintenance
  • Required equipment
  • Navigation
  • Boat operation and handling
  • Nautical charts
  • Buoys
  • Marine Radio
  • VA State boating laws and more...

Classes will be held each Tuesday and Thursday for three consecutive weeks from 6:45 pm till 8:45 pm (Topside)
April 2nd through April 18th
with the final test on Wednesday, April 24th

We would like to thank all the Wine Club members and their guests for attending the last wine tasting. We have reached our maximum capacity with an impressive number attending.  We want everyone to have an enjoyable evening with family and friends at our wine tastings, but we do ask everyone to keep conversations down during the presentation of each wine. The speaker is very knowledgeable about the regions from which the wine originates and the grapes that make up a particular wine. With such a large group, often it is difficult for people to hear the information being presented, so please be mindful of the people around you and show respect for our speaker.
