The first regular session of the 123rd Indiana General Assembly officially began its work last Monday with an action-packed week. Bills are getting filed later than usual but, so far, the message is clear: priority will be placed on developing our people, communities, and jobs. Infrastructure Improvements in Johnson County


The Indiana Department of Transportation is tasked with awarding grants to towns, cities and counties across the state to improve infrastructure such as bridges, sidewalks and roads. At the end of last year, Johnson County communities combined received over $4.4 million in funding for improvements according to a report from lawmakers representing the county.

I-69 Finish Line Project Update


The I-69 Finish Line Project is the final addition to the long-awaited Interstate 69 connection from Indianapolis to Evansville. The Indiana Department of Transportation’s official progress tracker on i69finishline.com reports that the Corridor is 62% complete. As of January, 89% of construction in Morgan County is complete, 85% in Johnson County and 23% in Marion County. The interstate is still expected to open to traffic by the end of 2024.
