The last two weeks at Tailwheel Town

Sometimes it sure pays to have pals with Taildraggers!  Jeff Thompson needed some recurrent work while his Husky is being worked on and my PA12 was undergoing a trim cable change, so I used Outlaw Aviation's Cessna 120 and Jeff and I had a great time with it.

Jeff Thompson.

My latest Book, "Swoop" has gone to the printers and will soon be available on Amazon.com and Kindle.  I'll be sure to mention it when it's available.  The next edition of "Brian's Flying Book" and "Swoop 2" are in the works.  They may take longer, but will be worth waiting for!

Sam Monte.

Sam Monte and I flew the little C120 down to Sunriver and then brought the 172 back.  That gave us a chance to do a little formation flying, which reminded me what a good stick ol' Sam is!

A new article on the Tailwheeler's Journal

Okay, since this newsletter only goes to my pals, I'll let you in on a little secret.  The article I was thinking about posting this week was about water skiing.  The reason I didn't post it was that I'm still dithering about liability.  It may still get posted, but I'm still gathering opinions, so this week's article will be "More Traditions".  It's kinda fun and I think you may get a kick out of it.
The cutting of a shirt tail... an aviation tradition.

An older article worth another look...

This week's older article is "Spins, Acro and White Knuckles".  Spins are an important part of every pilot's training.  In this article, you will learn about my own introduction to the maneuver as well as how important I think that such training can be.

The Tailwheeler's Journal is proud to team with Oregon Aero in our quest to promote safer pilots through  development of greater flying skill. Remember, every pilot who completes a Tailwheel Endorsement or Stick and Rudder Master Class at Tailwheel Town will receive a complimentary Gift Certificate from Oregon Aero.

This is the bi-weekly newsletter from The Tailwheeler's Journal.  Subscribers to the newsletter receive notice every time something new appears on the site.
