February 2020
All you need is love...
The culture among the staff at CCF-LA is like no other. And so, this past St. Valentine’s Day, we decided to exchange cards with little notes about what our colleagues mean to one another.

When asked how to describe our co-workers, common responses included:
• Dedicated
• Loyal
• Inspiring
• Ethical
• Fun
These qualities not only apply to our staff as individuals but also characterize our approach to professional philanthropy management. We serve our clients with "a positive attitude, humor, and can-do spirit" and exhibit "passion and dedication to our mission." Click to read more CCF-LA "love notes."

Featured Client: Adrienne Usher, New Philanthropist

Adrienne is the Harvard-Westlake School sophomore behind the recent "Dollars for Divine" campaign that raised money for the Divine Saviour STEM School.

She didn’t stop there, deciding to take her philanthropy to the next level by opening a Donor-Advised Fund to continue fundraising and supporting Catholic elementary education all throughout Los Angeles County.  Read more.

Celebrating Catholic Schools
Catholic Schools Week is a joyful celebration of the blessing that Catholic schools have in the lives of students and families. At St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy in Downey, Senior Alejandro Esquivel reflected on how Catholic school has allowed him to grow in all aspects of his life—academically, athletically, and spiritually. All is excitement as we gather information to report on my first year-end close with CCF-LA. Since I started in March 2019, I’ve come to firmly embrace the foundation’s mission as my own.

2019 delivered healthy growth to our funds, with our Balanced Pool yielding 22.9 percent and the Intermediate Fund 12.3 percent. We are very pleased with last year’s results and remain advisedly optimistic about 2020's prospects. Read more.
