"There is no health, without mental health" – this quote drives me more than anything to work in the field of mental health and support all the individuals with mental health-related issues, persons with disabilities, and all those who need our direct support to contribute to the society we are living in.
I grew up in the remote village of Rangpur, Bangladesh. I studied Psychology and School Psychology at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. There was a course on the education of exceptional children that helped me to understand the special needs and differences with the mainstream education system for individuals with autism and other neurological disorders.
I always wanted to pursue a degree in this field or gather experience by working closely with individuals in more structured facilities, learning and contributing to individual education-nutrition-behavior plans.
I am a task-oriented workaholic and always want to learn new things with the keenness to create more. I always encourage and drive others to find their potential among themselves. Kindness, gratefulness, and supporting others with an open mind are blended in me which I got from my family.
The unique and effective approach of the Anderson Center for Autism (ACA) convinced me to come here to experience practical behavioral skills training further strengthening my knowledge, and developing my skills in this field as I know about the structure from my seniors, friends, and juniors from Bangladesh.
Thanks a lot to ACA, Anderson Center International, and of course my sponsor for giving me the opportunity to come and explore ACA as well as the U.S."
