In August, Melanie Hitchcock joined us as the senior director of development to lead Anderson’s fundraising efforts. Her career spans two decades in nonprofit philanthropic work in New Mexico.

We relaunched our Executive Speaker Series this academic year featuring Peter Sanchez, CEO of The Atrisco Companies, Sept. 21. Sanchez shared with our students and various community members his story of success and the lessons he learned along the way.

Inaugural entrepreneurial Accelerator Program launched
The Center for Responsible Entrepreneurship kicked off its inaugural Accelerator Program in August. The 10-month workshop series is designed to support entrepreneurs in Northern New Mexico.

Visiting Japanese students
Japanese business students from Yamanashi Gakuin University visited Anderson Sept. 11-16 for instruction on U.S. entrepreneurship and business pitch strategies, culminating in a business pitch competition.

2023 EMBA international immersion trip
In March, our Executive MBA Class of 2023 traveled to Italy for their weeklong immersion experience and visited several locations. Most notably the group traveled to Puglia, where the 2024 G7 Summit conference will take place.

Student team to compete in international sales competition
Four of Anderson’s top sales students will compete in the 2023 International Collegiate Sales Competition Nov. 1-4 at Disney World, hosted by Florida State University. Student teams from around the world will compete for the top honor in sales – the World Cup trophy and widespread recognition.

National Science Foundation awards five grants totaling $160 million over 10 years
Robert DelCampo, Anderson’s executive director of corporate and community engagement, has helped secure several grants from the NSF in conjunction with other community leaders, including Anderson alum Randy Trask, executive director of Q Station. The grants will be awarded over the next 10 years, totaling $160 million, to increase training and workers in space companies across New Mexico.
