Our New Student Center
Earlier this spring, we set our sights on implementing the new Student Engagement, Empowerment and Development (SEED) Center. The SEED Center will oversee the Anderson Learning Lab, student organizations and career services. Additionally, we will implement the newly revamped living learning community as well as the first-ever Anderson First Year Experience course. While we are already hard at work, a new physical space is under development and will debut for the Fall 2023 semester!

Visiting Fulbright Scholar
This year, Anderson has had the pleasure of welcoming and working with Bianca Tjizumaue, a Visiting Fulbright Scholar. At home, Bianca heads the Marketing, Logistics and Sport Management Department at Namibian University of Science and Technology.

Dean's Search Update
UNM Provost James Holloway has launched a search for Anderson's next dean. The search committee, chaired by College of Fine Arts Dean Harris Smith, convened in early March with the assistance of executive search firm Isaacson, Miller. Provost Holloway plans to bring finalists to campus soon. As the search process progresses, updates and additional information can be found on the executive search website.

Meet the Editor Speaker Series
The Research Excellence Advisory Council, composed of faculty members across departments, invited Anderson alumnus Dr. Jonathan Bundy from the Academy of Management Review to speak with our faculty. He presented his most recent research into cancel culture and its implications for companies and shared best practices for publishing in theoretical, peer-reviewed academic journals.

Rainforest Student Pitch Competition
Anderson hosted the annual Rainforest Student Pitch Competition April 4 at Bow & Arrow Brewing Co. The top 10 student teams prepared and delivered 90-second live elevator-style pitches of their business ideas to a panel of judges.

Global Scaling Challenge
April 14-15, we hosted our third annual Global Scaling Challenge, where 21 student teams from 17 institutions from around the world competed for $35,000 in prize money and three internships with the featured firms.

Tech Navigator Challenge
On April 21, Anderson's Innovation Academy hosted its annual Tech Navigator Challenge. Where students were tasked with creating commercialization plans for existing technology from one of our two partnering companies; Air Force Research Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories.

DigBI Consulting is a Seattle-based entrepreneurial company founded and managed by CEO and two-time Anderson alumnus Lee Derks.
Lee graduated in 2005 with a BBA in Management Information Systems and in 2010 with his MBA. In his nearly 20-year career, he has worked at the senior leadership level in multiple industries.
