Nashoba Valley Winery and J's Restaurant is pleased to announce that Bristol, RI resident Andy McWilliams has been hired as Executive Chef. Chef McWilliams was previously the Executive Chef at the Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.  The Carnegie Abbey Club is one of the finest private golf and sporting clubs in the nation.

"We have always been blessed with creative chefs at Nashoba Valley Winery so I am so pleased that we were able to entice Chef Andy McWilliams to join our team," said Richard Pelletier, Owner & General Manager of Nashoba Valley Winery. "His passion for serving locally grown foods fits perfectly within our culinary philosophy of supporting our neighbors and local agriculture.  Each time I met with Chef McWilliams I became more confident that he was the right person for the position and I know that our customers will embrace his enthusiasm, passion and experience.  I could not be more excited."

Executive Chef McWilliams is passionate about presenting locally grown produce, meat and seafood from New England's farmers and fishermen. In the past he joined forces with Trace & Trust, an organization formed by New England fishermen who connect producers with chefs to ensure that they are serving only the best local ingredients possible. J's Restaurant will be one of the first restaurants in Massachusetts to have traceable fish and beef through this sustainable initiative capturing the spirit of Nashoba Valley Winery which prides itself on producing wines, spirits and beers from locally grown grapes, fruits and grains.

Chef McWilliams has worked in some of the most prestigious restaurants in the nation from Lake Tahoe to New York, including a culinary stage at famed Le Bernardin, a three-star Michelin rated restaurant in Manhattan. There, he worked under esteemed Chef Eric Ripert, widely considered one of the most talented fine dining chefs in the world.

Chef McWilliams also spent five years at Castle Hill Inn, a Relais & Chateau property renowned for its individualized service and culinary standards where he served as Sous Chef on the award-winning property's culinary staff.  His culinary journey began at a young age in the pizzerias of his family's Long Island neighborhood. He later went on to school for a marine biology degree in Naples, Florida, but missed the energy of the kitchen.  He committed to his passion for cooking and earned his degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America in New York.

Chef McWilliams joins a team committed to taking Nashoba and J's to the next level.  "Nashoba has an amazing history and is a unique and amazing property.  I know we can showcase it and the bountiful lands around it. I cannot wait to get started."
