We thank everyone in Anaheim for doing your part to fight coronavirus in our community, and we want you to know that as your city, we're here for you.
Anaheim cases
We continue to see low COVID-19 case numbers for Anaheim and Orange County, as we increase vaccinations and stop the spread of the virus.

It's important that everyone continue to fight COVID in all we do and get vaccinated, if you haven't done so already.

Anaheim saw an increase of 33 cases in the past seven days, down from 52 new cases the week prior, while Orange County saw 218 new cases, down from 309 last week.

Anaheim is at a cumulative 41,999 cases, with 5,401 among children.

Orange County is at a cumulative 255,164 cases, with 26,756 among children.

Sadly, Anaheim has seen 886 people pass from complications of COVID-19, the condition caused by coronavirus. The county has seen a total of 5,059 deaths.

Our hearts go out to the families who have lost someone dear to them.

The county has processed a total of 3,906,305 polymerase chain reaction, or PCR, tests, the standard for diagnosing COVID-19 cases.

Anaheim and Orange County are currently in yellow Tier 4, the most permissive in the state's reopening framework.

The colored, restrictive tier system is set to be retired on June 15, with Anaheim, Orange County and all of California moving to largely normal operations. The next phase of reopening is known as Beyond the Blueprint.

You can see more at Anaheim.net/reopening.

The county's current case rate is 1.3 per 100,000 residents.

The county's current positivity rate is 0.8 percent.

The county's current positivity rate among our harder-hit, low-income communities is 0.7 percent.

We continue to dispense vaccines in our city at the Anaheim Convention Center and at community centers and mobile clinics in neighborhoods.

In our data below we include the percent of Anaheim residents age 12 years and older who have been vaccinated, based on state data as of May 19.

*Note: The state reports delays in receiving vaccination data this week and hasn't shared new information as of yet. We expect to have an update for you next week.

See more on vaccines below.

Vaccines: get rewarded
It's never been easier to get vaccinated in Anaheim.

And now you can even get rewarded for it!

This week the state announced a new incentive program to get people vaccinated and finally defeat COVID-19.

If you've already been vaccinated, you'll be automatically entered to win $50,000 from the state for being on top of it. The random drawings will occur on June 4 and June 11.

If you haven't gotten around to it yet, now's the time. You'll get a $50 gift card after you are fully vaccinated.

Everyone who has gotten at least one shot will be entered to win a grand prize of $1.5 million! Ten lucky winners will be selected on June 15.

And the greatest reward of all is that by getting vaccinated you're protecting yourself and your loved ones from getting really sick, and helping our state recover and get back to normal.

So don't wait any longer, get vaccinated now.

Super POD update, closures
The vaccine Super POD at Anaheim Convention Center is entering its final week of operation, after nearly four months of serving a critical need in our fight against COVID-19.

The vaccination site will close after the last shots are given on Saturday, June 5. Anyone age 16 and older can get the shot by either walk-up or appointment. The site is offering Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

If you receive your first shot of Moderna at the convention center, you'll be scheduled through Othena to get your second shot at a neighborhood clinic.

In observance of Memorial Day, the Super POD will be closed Monday, May 31.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has been vaccinated and to the countless individuals who have volunteered time or helped staff the Super POD at Anaheim Convention Center. We are finally getting back to doing the things we love because of all of you!
