Helping Your Patients With Advanced Diagnostics, Closer to Home
We’re More Than a 24/7 Emergency Hospital!
Referral centers are busy, just like emergency hospitals and primary care clinics. But, here at Animal Emergency Hospital of Volusia, we can assist your patients in atypical ways beyond our 24/7 emergency services, to expedite diagnoses, treatment, and healing.

When advanced diagnostics need to be performed on a patient, consider a referral to us – no need for your client to travel out of the area or wait weeks for an appointment.
Diagnostic Capability Highlights
While a complete list of our advanced diagnostic capabilities can be found on our website in the Services section, some of the unique technology we use daily can truly make a difference in the timeliness of treatment and peace of mind for the pet family.
Digital Cytology
Through this progressive technology, we are able to upload cytology and hematology images directly to a clinical pathologist and receive a report back in as little as one hour. This allows us to diagnose and begin treatment at the same visit. No more waiting for days after sending in the sample and hoping it’s of good enough quality to be interpreted, receiving the report, and then coordinating with the pet owner about how and when their pet’s treatment can commence.

High-Definition Volumetric Imaging
Animal Emergency Hospital Volusia can be your local resource for imaging of all types. In addition to digital radiography, ultrasonography, echocardiography and electrocardiography onsite, we also have a unique piece of equipment that benefits patients in several ways:
Vimago™,  a multi-modality masterpiece featuring High-Definition Volumetric Imaging (HDVI). Similar to computed tomography, HDVI captures incredibly detailed 3-dimensional images to detect abnormalities anywhere in the body and can also be used for surgical planning. Plus, using HDVI, diagnostic fluoroscopy may be used for coughing issues, swallow studies, shunts, collapsing tracheas, and more.
