Greetings Osprey Community,

As another Osprey Week comes to a close, we want to share our deep appreciation for our teachers, who have spent countless hours envisioning, planning and leading fun and meaningful trips for our students. Pulling off Osprey Week takes a lot of work, but it is undoubtably worthwhile. We love using both the wilderness and community-based venues as our classrooms, and we know that there is significant value in diving deeply into learning and adventure alongside one another. If you haven't headed over to the AHS Facebook page to check out the sweet photos from the week, here is the link--look at all those big smiles!

We have a professional development day on Monday, April 2 and classes resume on Tuesday, April 3. We'll use the time Monday for staff-led workshops exploring a range of topics, including teen technology use, developing social connectedness for all students, using MakerSpaces to enhance teaching and learning, effective strategies for talking to students about substance use, identifying student curiosities and more. We will also use that time to update the AHS Course Catalog so we can share it with students and families in mid-April and have students select their electives for next year before this year draws to a close.

Remember that Senior Project TED Talks will continue on April 3 through 9. Here is the full schedule, including research questions. Please plan to attend at least a couple!

Please refer to the letter we sent to families yesterday for all the details about the PSAT and SAT testing that will take place for 9th through 11th graders on April 10, as well as the CMAS science test for 11th grade on April 17. We are seeking donations so that we can provide snacks to 200 students on the PSAT/SAT testing date; please sign up here if you can help.

The AHS Prom is on Saturday, April 14 at the Powerhouse Science Center from 8:00 to 11:00pm, just a couple of weeks after we return from spring break. Seniors and juniors can purchase tickets during lunch for $35 apiece, and each student is welcome to invite one high school aged guest. After Prom is included in the ticket price and will be from 11:30pm to 2:00am at the Boys & Girls Club. After Prom provides a drug and alcohol-free place for our students to continue the celebration, and it is completely run by parent volunteers. We are so grateful to Osprey parent Marla Stills for taking the lead in organizing After Prom, and we need additional helping hands to chaperone, set up, provide food, seek prizes and more. Please click here to see all the After Prom volunteer roles that still need to be filled and sign up to help where you can so we can provide this special event for our students!

We hope everyone enjoys a restful, rejuvenating spring break. Thanks for all you do to help the Ospreys soar!
