We appreciated hearing the conversations students and parents had this week during Student-Led Conferences. Thank you to all our families, students and staff for making the time for these important mid-semester check-ins.
All students have received their AHS Student ID Cards and it's important that they carry them if they are riding buses to/from DHS, to off-campus XBlock locations (Rec Center, skate park or Chapman Hill) or for field trips. Durango 9R has installed scanners on their buses, and students will not be allowed to ride the bus without showing their Student IDs, so it's super important for Ospreys to get in the habit of having IDs with them.
Next week is a short one, followed by a four-day weekend for students as staff will engage in professional development work Friday, October 27 and the following Monday, October 30. We will have a slightly modified schedule on Wednesday, which you can view
here, to make time for our monthly All School Meeting. Also on Wednesday, we'll have a school-wide Pumpkin Carving Contest during advisory. Please be sure to bring in pumpkins and all the fixings to make them fabulous!
Wednesday evening, AHS college counselor Jess Adams will host the
Freshman and Sophomore College Night from 5:30 to 7:30 in the Commons. Please attend to learn more about how course selection, career exploration and other factors can help students set the best course toward successful college entry and postsecondary endeavors.

Be sure to reach out to senior Izzy Simpson if you have an item you would like to donate for the AHS Fall Fundraiser on November 15. The silent auction will include items showcasing Osprey talent, including a three-course meal from junior Malcolm Kelly who has worked as a professional chef, mountain biking lessons from members of the AHS team and much, much more. Have a talent or item you'd like to donate to the auction? Email Izzy at

The AHS mountain biking team is off to State Championships this weekend in Eagle, where they will compete against all the other Division I schools from across Colorado. We wish them the very best of luck as they pursue athletic excellence. Make us proud, Ospreys!
Thanks for all you do to help the Ospreys soar!
