Erin Jolley from Cooking Matters shares tips with Consumer Math students about how to shop smartly at City Market
Hello Osprey Community,

We've made history in Durango by passing ballot initiative 3A, creating a mill levy that supports not only the district schools in our community but also Durango's public schools that are chartered through Colorado Charter School Institute: AHS and Mountain Middle School.  We are so very grateful for the efforts of many in campaigning for 3A and for the support our community has shown for all of our students!

Congratulations to Ally Johnson's sophomores for the successful launch this week of the Sophomore Sentinel, our latest online news outlet.  Read student-penned articles about a range of issues  here.

junior Kaitlyn Dunn explores the moral issues at play when religious freedom and LGBTQ rights are in conflict with one another at last night's Morality and Politics of Justice coffeehouse exhibition
Next week, students will be asked to select their top five choices for Osprey Week through an online survey that will go out via email Wednesday morning.  Please review all the options here over the weekend to determine which are the best fit for your family--there are lots of amazing choices!

Our School Excellence Committee will meet Monday evening at 5:00 to 6:00 in Ashley Carruth's classroom; the AHS Board of Directors will meet in the same location from 6:00 to 8:00.  Both meetings are open to the public; minutes and agendas are regularly posted on the AHS website here.

sophomores Sadie Schafer, Alma Wolf and Joe Thomson join Dan Thurber at the County Fairgrounds on election day to share what they learned about ballot initiatives in Math 2
Please be sure to join us for the 2nd Annual Osprey Games next Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 at the Henry Strater Theatre, where three teams of teachers and students will go head-to-head in a friendly game-show style trivia competition, all in the name of celebrating our close student-teacher relationships and serving as our largest fundraiser of the year.  We'll begin the evening with a showcase of beautiful work from students and finish with live music and dancing.  Admission is free, with plenty of fun opportunities throughout the evening to support the school in the way that works best for you.  All are welcome-- invite your friends and dress in your finest "game show fancy" attire to get into the spirit!

Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for all you do to help the Ospreys soar!
