Charles and his mural
Greetings Osprey Community,

Yet another space on campus is being beautified and improved this week.  Senior Charles Rhodes is creating a truly magnificent mural celebrating the positive cultural impact of hip hop as part of his Senior Project.  We love how his beautiful work brightens the walk between our lower parking lot and campus!

Please join us for  AHS at ABC Happy Hour next Monday from 5:30 to 7:00 at Animas Brewing Company,  an informal, fun gathering for AHS parents and families--hopefully outside on the porch to celebrate the spring and a great school year. Current Animas parents will be available to share their perspective about why AHS is a good fit for them and new/prospective families are certainly welcome!

There are just a few available time slots for the AHS Escape Room, which will be open to the public Monday through Friday of next week at 5:00 and 6:30, and again at All School Exhibition on May 12. That same evening, join Britt Gordon's Studio Art students from 5:00 to 7:00 at Homeslice's North Main location for opening night of their art show, featuring live music from juniors Julianne Marqua and TJ Rifkin.

Finally, there are still tickets available for senior Nick Tarasewicz's show The Magic Behind the Magic at the Animas City Theatre this Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00. Read this recent article from the Durango Herald to learn more about Nick's love of magic and how is has led to a successful business and a recent college scholarship.

Senior Project Spotlight: Britt Collins

Hello, my name is Brittan Collins and I am a senior at Animas High School. For my Take Action Project, I am trying to raise money so that I can purchase needed supplies for Manna Soup Kitchen which provides nourishing meals as well as a variety of supportive services to those who are in need. In order to help them in this pursuit, I will spend the money that is raised on materials that Manna Soup Kitchen needs the most. This includes general food items as well as personal care supplies. Manna Soup Kitchen is also in need of some tools for their garden which supplies produce to families in need. I encourage you all to donate to my GoFundMe which can be found here. All donations are greatly appreciated--many thanks to those who have already contributed a total of $665 towards my goal of $1000!
