Sentai Filmworks announced on Tuesday that it will screen Made in Abyss: Wandering Twilight (Made in Abyss: Horo Suru Tasogare), the second Made in Abyss compilation anime film, in theaters in the United States beginning on May 27. Bonus features with the screening will include behind-the-scenes content and interviews. Anime Central will host the U.S. premiere of the film at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois on May 17. The premiere will include a red-carpet event, and director Masayuki Kojima, music producer Hiromitsu Iijina, and composer Kevin Penkin will attend a Q&A session.
Viz Media announced some of the English dub cast for its home video release of the
Sailor Moon Stars anime on Monday. The cast includes:
Stephanie Sheh as Chibi-Chibi
Melissa Hutchison as Sailor Star Fighter
Erika Harlacher as Sailor Star Maker
Sarah Williams as Sailor Star Healer
Carrie Keranen as Sailor Galaxia
Viz Media's release will mark the first time Sailor Moon Stars, which is the fifth and final season of the original Sailor Moon television anime series, is getting a home video release in North America. Viz Media
plans to release the series this spring.
GKIDS announced on Monday that it and Shout! Factory will release Goro Miyazaki and POLYGON PICTURES' Ronja the Robber's Daughter television anime on Blu-ray Disc on August 20. The release will include all 26 episodes with the English dub, English subtitles with Japanese audio, a "making-of" featurette, and an interview with Goro Miyazaki. We'll have it up for pre-order soon.
Walt Disney Co. will take full control of Hulu in a deal with co-owner Comcast Corp. The accord announced Tuesday represents a big bet by Disney on continued rapid growth for Hulu. Under the terms, Comcast is guaranteed a $5.8 billion windfall by early 2024, when the cable giant can sell its stake to Disney. Hulu will be a key weapon in Disney's growing online fight with Netflix.

Creator Hajime Kanzaka has announced he will be doing a third arc in the
Slayer's saga. The news was made official in the latest issue of Dragon Magazine. So it's official, the epic sword and sorcery saga is continuing. Can't wait!
I was very sad to hear this week that Grumpy Cat passed away from complications following a urinary tract infection. She was 7 years old.
Grumpy Cat, whose given name was Tardar Sauce, became an internet celebrity after her owner's brother posted a photo of the cat to Reddit in 2012. RIP Tardar Sauce, you brought joy to my life in a way that few others have.
And finally, on a non-Anime note, in regards to the final season of Game of Thrones, I would like to quote Robert Baratheon, who once said:
"Give me something for the pain and let me die."
I suppose if nothing else, I have a bit of schadenfreude that mainstream audiences are finally getting a taste of the pain of
"oh no, the Anime has gotten ahead of the manga" syndrome that we have all experienced many times over the years.
I apparently am not alone in this sentiment. There is a
petition trending on change.org that calls for HBO to fire Dumb and Dumber and remake season 8 of the show with competent writers, that will probably reach a million signatures by the time the final episode airs on Sunday. While I would not give a snowballs chance in hell that the folks at HBO would ever consider such a thing, it does remind me of 20 years ago when the fan beloved Anime
Evangelion ended in such a debacle with those final 2 terrible episodes, and how the producers actually listened to the fans and ultimately remade the ending of the show with those two mind blowing fantastic movies (all long out of print).
Rarely do fans get so invested in a show because rarely does a show so good and so different and so original come along, and at least we can look back at the Anime community for an example of when things where done right - well, at least once...
Anyway, I guess we'll see what the final episode brings. Until then, I would like to express my humble appreciation to Benioff and Weiss:

When an experiment goes horribly awry and transforms the Sorceress Azalie into a monstrous dragon, the sorcerers of the Tower of Fang callously decide to pretend that Azalie died in order to preserve the Tower's reputation. And to make sure that the magic beans never get spilled, they also decide that Azalie needs to be destroyed.
Disgusted by their cravenly actions, Azalie's friend Krylancelo renounces his allegiance to the Tower, changes his name to Orphen and sets forth to save the damsel/dragon in distress. It won't be easy: there'll be minions with nefarious plans to defeat, and along the way Orphen will pick up an apprentice, a spoiled rich girl and a couple of trolls. But it wouldn't be a heroic journey without a few bumps in the road, would it? The epic quest is on in Sorcerous Stabber Orphen!
