COLUMBUS DAY HOLIDAY
The RACS fulfillment center will be closed on Monday October 9th for the Columbus Day (or whatever people call it now) holiday. All orders and inquires submitted over the long weekend will be processed when we return on Tuesday, October 7th. We hope everyone has a great long weekend!
A QUICK NOTE
We appreciate all the new faces coming over here to RACS over the past couple of weeks as the flight from Brand X continues. Everyone is always welcome here, and always has been. Orders are up 156% since Sept 25th and we've had nearly 1,200 new subs to this newsletter. I want to remind everyone that we are a family business, and we never shill for the studio's. We remain independent of big corporate money and big studio interests. You will always have direct access to me for any questions, problems or issues that arise. The business model that Brand X practiced for the last few years was unsustainable. We're trying to do better than that, and we're glad that you're here. :-)

STORE STUFF - WHAT's NEW THIS WEEK
We have next weeks Anime releases this week again! New Anime arrivals include the Eminence in Shadow Season 1 BLURAY and the Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions Ultimate Collection BLURAY (Re-Release) from Sentai, Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Season 2 BLURAY from Crunchymation, and the Anime Non-Anime release of RWBY Volume 9 BLURAY from Cinedigm.
All of Discotek's October 31st releases are now on the way to us and should be in stock by the middle of next week. That includes Cybersix BLURAY, Goku Midnight Eye OVA Series BLURAY, Mazinger Z Collection 1 BLURAY, Urusei Yatsura TV Series Part 3 BLURAY, and the The Wonderful World of Puss N’ Boots BLURAY.
On the adult side the Oshioki Discipline Curriculum BLURAY (Adult) finally came in from Kitty and is now IN STOCK. All pre-orders for it are now shipped! I'm also told that the Kanojo Bridal Booty Search BLURAY (Adult) will be ready to ship soon, so we should have it around the third week of Oct.
We added two more upcoming releases to the store for pre-order, the Masaaki Yuasa Five Films BLURAY from G-Kids, and also the Spirited Away Live On Stage BLURAY (Live Action) because a couple of you asked us to carry it.
New manga and books in stock this week include fan favorites such as Dandadan , Vol #5, Komi Can't Communicate , Vol #27, My New Life as a Cat , Vol #3, Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie , Vol #14, Hitomi-chan is Shy With Strangers , Vol #6 and many more!

NEW LICENSES
Crunchymation announced that it has acquired the North American rights to The Concierge, the anime film of Tsuchika Nishimura's The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store (Hokkyoku Hyakkaten no Concierge-san) manga, and it will screen the film in theaters in 2024.
Seven Seas announced that it has licensed the Riku Can't Be a Goddess light novel series and the My Sister Took My Fiance and Now I'm Being Courted by a Beastly Prince manga. Seven Seas will release the first volume of Kumi Tamaru's Riku Can't Be a Goddess (Riku-kun wa, Megami ni Narenai) novel series in July 2024. Seven Seas also announced that it has licensed Scarlet Beriko's Nagahama to Be, or Not to Be boys-love school romance manga. The manga will get a simulpub volume release in 11 territories, including the U.S. and Japan.
One Peace Books confirmed that it has licensed Ken Saitō's Tales of the Tendo Family (Tendō-ke Monogatari) manga. The company will release the first volume on April 9, 2024 and the second volume on June 25.
IN THE NEWS
Netflix is gearing up to raise the prices of streaming plans without advertising “a few months” after the SAG-AFTRA actors strike is resolved, according to a new report. The streaming service is “discussing” raising prices in “several markets globally,” and likely will first increase fees in the U.S. and Canada, according to a Wall Street Journal report, citing anonymous sources. The Journal did not have info on what Netflix’s new prices will be or when they might go into effect. Netflix declined to comment on the report.
Talent agency Johnny & Associates president Noriyuki Higashiyama announced on Monday at a press conference in Tokyo that the agency will change its name to Smile Up starting on October 17, as part of the company's "vision" to earn back fans' trust. Smile Up will be responsible for handling the compensation measures for sexual abuse victims of the agency's late founder Johnny Kitagawa, and will start that process in November. The company will shut down after the compensation measures are completed. The agency will establish a separate new entity to oversee talent management operations, and will announce that name at a later date. Members of the Johnny's fan club will decide on the name.
Federal Judge Alan D. Albright of Texas declared Texas law HB900 (House Bill 900, also known as READER), an act that would require any vendor who wishes to sell books to Texas schools to provide sexual explicitness level ratings, unconstitutional in a written opinion filed on September 18. Judge Albright previously made a ruling on August 31 to halt the act, which was scheduled to take effect on September 1.
And finally, I saw a commercial for the Barbie movie a couple of days ago, and at the end Warner says "OWN it now on DIGITAL". The irony of that statement does not escape me... ;-)
