Sarah Chandonnet

The Humanist Hub is delighted to present our 2017 Harvard Humanist of the Year to Ann Druyan, writer and producer for Cosmos, and outspoken science advocate.

This award, created more than 20 years ago, honors an individual whose life and contributions to society exemplify the values of Humanism: compassion, integrity, creativity, and honesty, among others. I t is with much enthusiasm that we welcome Ann Druyan to accept this award. We deeply admire her vast body of work including both landmark Cosmos series; her commitment to spreading humanist values through popular culture; and her steadfast support of science and reason in civic life. 1:30-3:00pm, 30 JFK Street. Upcoming Programs
Thursday, Nov 16: Jill Abramson Truth in an Era of Fake News
The former executive editor of the New York Times, Ms. Abramson is the first and only woman  ever to lead the Times and is a current Harvard Professor. This event will also feature a celebration of our organization's 40th anniversary! 7:00-9:00pm, 30 JFK Street. Read more here.    Purchase tickets here.

Nov 26: Alfie Kohn: A Secularist's Reflections on Gratitude
The tradition of giving thanks at this time of year is inextricably rooted in a religious worldview. Alfie Kohn invites us to ask whether we should also adopt a modified count-your-blessings posture in general -- even though there's no supernatural power to thank -- or question the whole idea of gratitude. 1:30-3:00pm, 30 JFK Street. Read more here.

11/19: BQL Family Morning Program
10:30am: Join us for a morning program with  author Katherine Stewart speaking on The Religious Right's Long Game concurrent with a Big Question Lab (our secular Sunday school) class! Read more here.
