Our virtual Ann Richards Dinner is right around the corner on August 29th. We're depending on you this year. Our country depends on you. No matter who you are, you can help defeat Trump, repair our country, and build something better. No matter where you are, November 2020 is waiting for you to be part of the change we desperately need. At this year’s Ann Richards Dinner, we want to recognize a few of the people who have served our community and made Collin County a better place to live.

That is why we are proud to announce that our 2020 Ann Richards Dinner Humanitarian of the Year award winner is Chuck Steelman. Through his work, he has embodied the mission of the Collin County Democratic Party by "…champion[ing] the Democratic values of equal opportunity, justice, and…support[ing] the common good of all the people…"
Chuck’s significant work impacted Collin County in many ways. He created "Top Ten Women of Collin County," allowing 10 Collin County non-profits the opportunity to recognize and celebrate outstanding women in the community. This event continues today under the name "Willow Bend Gives Back."

He served on the Board of Health Services of North Texas (HSNT), the only provider of health services to low-income AIDS patients in Collin County. As a co-founder of “Cuisine for a Cure” he helped create a yearly event that raises critical funds for the clinic to this day.

Chuck’s work with the regional charitable organizations Fashion Group International of Dallas and DIFFA/Dallas has benefited all of North Texas including Collin County. FGI has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to students at UNT and numerous other schools. DIFFA/Dallas benefits HIV/AIDS charities including the HSNT clinic in Plano.

For all these reasons, the Collin County Democratic Party is proud to recognize Chuck Steelman with this year’s Collin County “Humanitarian of the Year” award. We are excited to have you join us to see Chuck accept this award. When you support the Ann Richards Dinner, you support our efforts to flip Collin County in 2020 and make Collin County a place for people like Chuck, not Trump.

You know the stakes this year. Your support is the only thing that will make it possible for us to reach our goal. Join us on August 29th to celebrate how far we have come and help us fight for a better, bluer Collin County. If you haven’t already, please get your tickets to this event at  txdp.cc/ARDTickets
