Your Weekly News from the Collin County Democratic Party
Ann Richards Virtual Dinner is Back On
The Collin County Democratic Party is excited to announce that we have rescheduled the Ann Richard’s Dinner. This year our event will be held virtually on Saturday, August 29th, 2020 . From the comfort of your home you will hear from inspiring speakers, bid on the silent auction, and even have the opportunity to join in special receptions as a sponsor.

You will hear directly from many of our amazing 2020 Democratic candidates. We look forward to announcing our extraordinary line-up of speakers and entertainers from across our region, state, and nation, and we will share more details soon.

Every dollar we raise from Democrats like you at our Ann Richards Dinner goes directly to electing our Democrats, flipping Collin County, and defeating Donald Trump! Few years in our lifetime have seen more at stake – and we cannot win this election and save our country without your help.

When we change Collin County, we will change Texas. When we change Texas, we will change the country!

Your ticket is waiting for you here:  txdp.cc/ardtickets

CCDP Donation Drive for Veterans Center of North Texas

The Events Committee, chaired by Mike Agan, organized some events to honor our Veterans on Memorial Day. Due to COVID-19, we were unable to hold our annual Memorial Day Picnic. Instead we held a service at the Memorial Park in Plano on May 25 th with some of our Veterans present. To see the service, go to this link on Facebook Live .

We also sponsored a Donation Drive for the Veterans Center of North Texas and delivered over 300 pounds of food and goods to them. They were very grateful for your donations, which we dropped off on Women’s Veterans Day, June 12, 2020. We were told they give away over 3,000 pounds of food to the Veterans every year.

Stay tuned next year for a Picnic and a Donation Drive!

Volunteers Needed for Events Committee
The Events committee is looking to add two additional voting members on our committee. You should be able to attend regular standing meetings held on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm, be creative, interested in planning events, supporting events, and responsible for attending events.

We currently have four voting members and one ex-officio member. We look forward to growing our team and enhancing the overall experience of events, as well as those we are trying to reach in the Collin County community. Some of the types of events we work on are decorating floats and marching in the July 4th and Christmas holiday parades, having Democratic booths at local festivals such as the North Texas Pride Festival, Plano Balloon Festival, and McKinney Oktoberfest. Please contact the Events Co-Chairs by email at  events@collindemocrats.org  so we can explore your interests.

Each hour you spend at Collin All Dems earns you a chance to win two tickets to the Ann Richards Dinner, courtesy of the McKinney Area Democratic Club. Sign up here to receive the Zoom link.

Never phone banked before? No problem – training is available at each event. Hope to see you soon!
