Reflections

As I close my term as District Director for the 2025–2026 Toastmasters year, I do so with a heart full of gratitude.

It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve District 101 and to spend the past five years growing alongside so many remarkable leaders.

When I first stepped into District leadership, I thought I was accepting an opportunity to serve others. Looking back, I realize that all of you served me just as much. Every club visit, every conversation, every speech I heard, every breakthrough I witnessed, and every challenge we overcame together added another pearl of wisdom to my own leadership journey. Each of you has left an imprint on my life.

One of the greatest gifts of Toastmasters is that growth doesn't happen in isolation, or in just any community. However it happens in this community.

My favorite memories from this year came during the Humorous Speech Contest, the Spring Contest season, and our Annual Conference. These weren't simply events; they were opportunities to reconnect, celebrate one another, laugh together, and learn from one another. It is in those face-to-face moments that the true strength of the District 101 community shines.

When a community locks arms around a common purpose, extraordinary things happen. Throughout this year we faced challenges that at times seemed overwhelming. Yet someone always stepped forward with an idea, encouragement, or a willingness to help. Together, what once seemed impossible became possible. Even when that is a loss, we celebrated the life of Barbara Busch. That is the spirit of District 101.

Toastmasters teaches us far more than public speaking. It teaches us to continually work on ourselves while extending grace, patience, and encouragement to others on their own journey. That is a lesson I will carry with me long after this term has ended.

While our leadership team changed throughout the year, I am deeply grateful for everyone who answered the call to serve. I am giving A Special Thank You to Karen Cornwell, whose enthusiasm and positivity lifted our team when it was needed most.

My heartfelt appreciation goes to Abhijeet, Raji, Ashvin, Chirag, Neetish, Manini, Solarzar, Katherine, Francoise, Rupali, and Valerie, who stood by me and gave their support to D101 in big and small ways. Thank you to our Division Directors: Kari Lynn, Aniruddha, Vincent, Deepa, Pradeep, and Manoj, for your leadership and commitment. To each of our 28 Area Directors (Annie Chung, Arleen Arimura,Bryan Dosono, Christian Pinder, Daniel Cortez-Flores, Daniel Yu, David Leys, Declan Shalvey, Giri Sonty, Harshit Sood, Jacob Chaudhry, Judy Sink,Kapil Bodkhe, Maximillian Lawrence, Raj Souda, Robert Costa, Sanjeev Nagarkar, Smitha Warrier, Srujan Mishra, Suree Marley, Terence Lung, Thao Tran, Tom Ginsburg, Tommy Le, Vamsi Alla, Vikram Arunkumar, Vishal Chandrasekaran, Yuemeng Chi, Zhenqiang Ying), thank you for being the front line of service to our clubs. Your dedication has made a lasting difference throughout District 101.

As this chapter closes, I leave with far more than memories. I leave with lifelong friendships, invaluable lessons, and a deep belief in the people of District 101.

Thank you for your trust, your friendship, your resilience, and your unwavering commitment to helping others become better communicators and leaders. My hope is that each of you continues to Speak Boldly and Lead Fearlessly.

I will always remember that our terms may have an ending, but our impact does not.

The speeches will continue to inspire.

The leaders will continue to grow.

The friendships will continue to flourish.

The District 101 family will continue to expand.

And the story of District 101 is still being written.

My heart is full as I close this chapter, and I cannot wait to see what you accomplish next.
