Panther Post

May 6, 2022
Dear Sullivan Families,

Finally, it seems like we have spring weather on the horizon for the upcoming week! I can hardly believe that we are on the home stretch of the school year. We have finished our spring testing for the year, and the FastBridge and iReady growth reports will be sent home with your children at the end of the year. Our schoolwide data shows that our students grew in both reading and math, and I am so proud of how hard our teachers and students have worked this year!
On behalf of our staff, a HUGE thank you to the PTO for all of the Teacher Appreciation goodies during the past week. We loved the treats each day, and the lunch on Wednesday was delicious! Thank you for recognizing our staff and all the work they do each day with our kids!

Sullivan Snapshots
Chorus
Mrs. Luehr and the Sullivan Chorus have been working hard this spring! Every Wednesday, we love hearing the sound of their rehearsals echo through the hallways. We can't wait for their concert on May 17th at MacArthur!
5th Grade
Our 5th graders are learning about food webs in science. We are taking observations on our worms. Will they go to a light or a dark space? How do they move? Do worms like wet or dry areas? The big question for this section is Do worms really eat dirt?
Pawsitive Panthers
Ryann is a Pawsitive Panther, because she comes to band every week prepared and ready to learn. She practices her flute diligently outside of the school day, and is a good leader in her section. Way to be PAWSOME!
Jack has challenged himself with lengthy Battle books and encouraged other students to read them as well. His writing is very creative, and he adds so much to our discussions in Core Plus. Jack, you are truly PAWSOME!
Matthew is a Pawsitive Panther because he comes to school ready to learn every day. He has a positive attitude and is kind to all. Matthew tries his best and has grown SO much this year. You are PAWSOME!
Griffin is a Pawsitive Panther because he always gives his best effort in PE class. Griffin demonstrates great leader qualities while in PE class and is a great role model for his peers. Way to go Griffin!

It is important that we are respectful and responsible toward our students and classmates with these medical risks and follow the necessary steps to make all of our students feel welcome and safe.
