Friends –
We’re thrilled to tell you that President Biden is signing an executive order today reestablishing the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. The office will officially be supported by both the Domestic Policy Council and the Office of Public Engagement. The office’s principal function will be to promote partnerships with religious and secular organizations to better serve people in need. You can read more about the Partnerships Office and President Biden’s executive order in this White House Fact Sheet.
Melissa Rogers will serve as the office’s Executive Director and Senior Director for Faith and Public Policy in the White House Domestic Policy Council. Josh Dickson, White House Senior Advisor for Public Engagement, will serve as the office’s Deputy Director, and Trey Baker, White House Senior Advisor for Public Engagement, will serve as the office’s liaison to Black communities, including Black faith communities. The Partnerships Office will also work hand in hand with the wider White House Office of Public Engagement’s constituency outreach initiatives to engage and partner with stakeholders of all backgrounds and beliefs in its efforts to serve individuals and communities in need. And the White House team will work closely with staff in agency Centers for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
We’re just getting started, and we welcome your ideas and good counsel. We will be in touch later this week about ways to engage. Thanks for your tireless commitment to the common good and for your friendship. We look forward to the work ahead.
Sincerely,
Melissa, Josh, and Trey
