RBC Family,

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Michael Averett has accepted an offer to become our next Minister of Music at Riverchase Baptist, pending congregational vote of affirmation. Dr. Averett is an Associate Professor of Trumpet at Samford University and has experience leading corporate worship in multiple settings. 

Many of you were able to meet and interact with Michael during the times he attended RBC earlier this spring and when he led our worship service on May 18^th. The feedback we received from members of the choir, worship band, and congregation was overwhelmingly positive.

I am excited about this next season of ministry and pursuing the mission of RBC with Michael as part of our ministry staff and church family and am grateful for the Lord’s provision in His perfect timing. 

I am also grateful for those from within our congregation who have stepped in to provide leadership to our music ministry during the last two years of our search for a Minister of Music, particularly Jean and Darin Roberson and Stanley Bates.

A congregational vote of affirmation will be held on Sunday, June 15^th, following the regular worship service. 

He will begin his tenure July 1^st.
